Biography

Tommy Tee is a Norwegian record producer, rapper, and radio host who was born as Tommy Flåten in Oslo, Norway, in 1971. He achieved early professional recognition in 1989 after producing the track “The Crazy Minister” and is famous for being a pioneer of the Norwegian hip-hop scene and for his label Tee Productions. Tee established Norway's first hip-hop magazine Fat Cap in 1989 and launched Tee Productions in 1995. His debut solo studio recording Bonds, Beats & Beliefs (1998) became a significant commercial success in Norway and featured the hit single “Takin Ova” (1998). His discography includes the collaborative recording 2 Legender utan Penger (2004) with Ken Ring and the studio recordings Studio-Time (2009) and Musikk Ække Viktig (2013). For his work, he has received the Spellemannprisen for best rap album (2009) and the Honorary Grammy Award (2016). Since 1993, he has hosted the National Rap Show on NRK P3.
