Biography

Tim Freitag, a Swiss indie-rock band from Zürich, was formed in 2011 by Janick Pfenninger, Lorenzo Demenga, Severin Graf, and Nicolas Rüttimann. The band's name originated from an obituary for Tim Freitag that Pfenninger discovered. Their first single "Another Heart Has Lost Its Place" was released on an online streaming platform in 2012. By 2013, the band had gained prominence within the Zürich indie scene but took a hiatus until 2017 due to Pfenninger's international residencies. In October 2017, Tim Freitag released "Bruises", their first single after the hiatus, which garnered them international airplay. The band has performed over 100 concerts at notable events and venues including Moon&Stars in Locarno and Rote Fabrik. Their March 2018 release "Hold On" notably achieved over one million plays. In March 2020, Tim Freitag released their debut album Monsters Forever, which was promoted via a live studio performance on Radio SRF3 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
