Biography

The Three 4 Tens, an American garage rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was formed in 1995 by bassist Jamie Mahon, guitarist Joe Tagg, guitarist Brian McNamara, and drummer Jon Kois. Their first release was the EP Throw-Back-Move, released in 1997 by Lounge Records. In 1998, they released their first single "Magic Trip" and the band's debut album, Change is On Its Way, was self-released in 2000 before being picked up by File 13 Records and later licensed to Rainbow Quartz for European release. In 2003, they released their second full-length album, Taking Northern Liberties. After a brief disbandment and various lineup changes, The Three 4 Tens reconvened in 2007 to record Down the Way (2007), which was released as a three-piece with Mahon, Tagg, and Mike Ambs.
