Biography

The Nectarine No. 9 was an indie band from Edinburgh, Scotland, formed in 1991 by former Fire Engines frontman Davy Henderson. The group's music is characterized as dark, moody, and brilliant noisy guitar rock with quirky rhythms. Their debut album A Sea with Three Stars was released in 1992 on Postcard Records. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, they released several albums, including Guitar Thieves (1994) and Saint Jack (1995). The band recorded seven John Peel sessions during their career. Notable releases include Received Transgressed & Transmitted (2001) and I Love Total Destruction (2003), both on Beggars Banquet Records.
