The Micronauts were founded in France in 1995 by Christophe Monier and George Issakidis, who met while Monier was selling the eDEN magazine at a club event; Monier, a journalist and producer, later pursued the project solo after the duo split in 2000. Their early releases, including the single "Get Funky Get Down" (1995) and the maxi The Jazz / The Jam (1995), established their presence in the house scene, while the 1999 EP The Jag garnered attention despite limited commercial success; the track was later featured in a short film by Gregg Araki. The groupâs debut studio album, Bleep To Bleep, was issued on 3â¯Aprilâ¯2000, followed by the 2004 EP Anarchie and the 2005 album Sweat, which included the single "I Wanna Be Your Toy" (2005). In 2007, Christophe Monier signed with Citizen Records to release Damaging Consent, and subsequent remixes for The Chemical Brothers and Madonna expanded their profile. After a hiatus, Monier revived The Micronauts in 2017, reissuing "Get Funky Get Down" and releasing the EP Acid Party (2018) and the album Head Control Body Control (2019) on his label Micronautics.
