The Doppelgangaz is an American rap duo from Orange County, New York, consisting of rapper and producer Matter Ov Fact and rapper and producer EP, formed in 2008. The duo began their musical journey together in 1998 but officially started The Doppelgangaz around 2008. Their early releases included The Ghastly Duo EP (2008) and Beats for Brothels, Vol. 1 (2011). The group gained significant attention with their album Lone Sharks (2011), which received critical acclaim for its production reminiscent of the raw, gritty style of East Coast New York hip hop from the mid-1990s. They were featured in Europe's biggest hip-hop magazine Juice and covered by XXL in 2012. The Doppelgangaz released subsequent albums including Beats for Brothels, Vol. 2 (2012), Hark (2013) and Peace Kehd (2014).
