Biography

The Blasting Company, founded in 2008 by Justin Rubenstein and J.R. Kaufman in Los Angeles, emerged from performances in Tennessee and as Albania Mania. Their breakthrough came with the 2010 single "History of Public Relations Dilemmae", leading to the debut album A History of Public Relations Dilemmae (April 2010). The released For Sara (September 2015) before scoring the for the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall (July 2016). Subsequent releases include The Crooked Moon: Hungry Woods and The Crooked Moon: Sword and Seal (October 2025) and the EP Sketches of the Unknown (2020). The band remains active in Los Angeles, performing at the Hollywood Farmers' Market and contributing music to indie projects game Layers Deep.
