The Blasting Company, founded in 2008 by Justin Rubenstein and J.R. Kaufman in Los Angeles, emerged from performances in Tennessee and as Albaniaâ¯Mania. Their breakthrough came with the 2010 single "History of Public Relations Dilemmae", leading to the debut album A History of Public Relations Dilemmae (Aprilâ¯2010). The released For Sara (Septemberâ¯2015) before scoring the for the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall (Julyâ¯2016). Subsequent releases include The Crooked Moon: Hungry Woods and The Crooked Moon: Sword and Seal (Octoberâ¯2025) and the EP Sketches of the Unknown (2020). The band remains active in Los Angeles, performing at the Hollywood Farmers' Market and contributing music to indie projects game Layers Deep.
