Biography

A veritable musical UFO, Gogol Bordello combines Eastern European gypsy rhythms with punk energy and attitude. Formed in 1999 in New York by Ukrainian-born Eugene Hütz, Gogol Bordello is a meeting point for musicians of diverse ethnic origins. From Voi-La Intruder (1999) onwards, their reputation was established on stage, where the group's performances were unanimously acclaimed. Iconoclastic and wacky, Gogol Bordello released Multi Kontra Culti vs. Irony (2002), Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike (2005) and Super Taranta! (2007), before delivering Live from Axis Mundi in October 2009, a CD and DVD record of their wild shows. Gogol Bordello has become a trend-setter, and begins to taste success with Trans-Continental Hustle rn 2010. Gogol Bordello continues its unbridled creativity with Pura Vida Conspiracy in 2013.
