Biography

Behind the Tennant / Lowe signature are the names of the two founding members of Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, used for side projects. Formed in London in 1981, the Pet Shop Boys duo has made a name for itself in synthetic pop with albums such as Please (1986), Actually (1987), Behaviour (1990), Bilingual (1996) and Nightlife (1999). In 2001, the band composed the music for the musical Closer to Heaven, directed on stage by Jonathan Harvey. When the duo were commissioned to write the soundtrack for the film Battleship Potemkin, they decided to present the project under their two Tennant / Lowe names. Recorded with the Dresdner Sinfoniker conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer, the album was released on September 5, 2005. Six years later, in 2011, the signature was renewed for the music of the ballet film The Most Incredible Thing, recorded with The Wroclaw Score Orchestra conducted by Dominic Wheeler.
