Biography

Susto, an American indie rock band from Charleston, South Carolina, formed in 2013. The band's name is derived from the Spanish word "susto," meaning "an intense fear understood as a condition of the soul," reflecting some of the band members' Cuban roots. Susto began their music career with the release of their self-titled debut album SUSTO on Hearts & Plugs in 2014. Their second full-length album, & I'm Fine Today, was released in 2017 through ACID BOYS and Missing Piece Records. In February 2019, Susto released their third studio album, Ever Since I Lost My Mind, on Rounder Records. The band's fourth album, Time in the Sun, followed in October 2021 under New West Records. Their fifth album, My Entire Life, was released in July 2023, preceded by singles "My Entire Life," "Hyperbolic Jesus," and "Mermaid Vampire." Susto has performed at notable events such as the High Water Festival in North Charleston and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.
