Silversun Pickups, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2000, originated from the meeting of guitarist Brian Aubert and bassist Nikki Monninger aboard a flight from Los Angeles to London in 1994. After recruiting drummer Christopher Guanlao and keyboardist Joe Lester, the group released their debut EP Pikul in July 2005, featuring the track "Kissing Families". Their first fullâlength album, Carnavas, followed on 26â¯Julyâ¯2006; the single "Lazy Eye" reached the top ten on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in 2007 and was later included in the video games Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. The bandâs second album, Swoon, debuted at Numberâ¯7 on the Billboard 200 in Aprilâ¯2009, propelled by the single "Panic Switch". Subsequent releases-Neck of the Woods (Mayâ¯2012), Better Nature (Septemberâ¯2015), Widow's Weeds (Juneâ¯2019), and Physical Thrills (Augustâ¯2022)-each expanded their sonic palette, incorporating electronic elements and acoustic reinterpretations. Notable collaborations include producer Butch Vig on Widow's Weeds and Toy Soldiers, and a 2023 acoustic EP Acoustic Thrills featuring strippedâdown versions of tracks from Physical Thrills. The group maintained a steady touring presence, supporting acts such as Foo Fighters, Muse, and Placebo, and participated in major festivals like Sasquatch! and Coachella. In Novemberâ¯2025, they released "The Wreckage", the lead single from the album Tenterhooks, released February 6, 2026.
