Steel Train was an American indie rock band from New Jersey, formed in 2002. The group consisted of Jack Antonoff, Daniel Silbert, Evan Winiker, and Matt Goldman, who met at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County. Their first EP, For You My Dear, was released in 2003 after signing with Drive Thru Records / MCA. In 2005, Steel Train released their debut album, Twilight Tales from the Prairies on the Sun. The band gained prominence through extensive touring and festival appearances, including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Coachella. Their second full-length album, Trampoline, was released in 2007 and debuted at number 10 on Billboard's Heatseakers Chart. In 2010, Steel Train released their self-titled third album, which reached number 8 on the same chart. The band disbanded in January 2013 after a final show at the Bowery Ballroom but briefly reunited for the Shadow of the City Festival in 2016.
