The Monks of Doom, an American alternative rock band, formed in California in 1986 as a side project of Camper Van Beethoven. The group consisted of Victor Krummenacher on bass and vocals, Greg Lisher on guitar, Chris Pedersen on drums, and David Immerglück on guitar and vocals. Their debut album, Soundtrack to the Film "Breakfast on the Beach of Deception", was released in 1987 as an experimental in-studio project. The band's second album, The Cosmodemonic Telegraph Company, followed in 1989. After Camper Van Beethoven disbanded in 1990, the Monks of Doom increased their activity, releasing three albums and one EP between 1991 and 1992. Immerglück left the band in 1993 to pursue other projects, leading to the group's disbandment. The Monks of Doom reformed in 2003 and released What's Left For Kicks?, an album of cover songs, in 2006.
