Blood on the Saddle is an American country punk and cowpunk band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles by Greg Davis. The original lineup featured Ron Botelho and Hermann Senac, with Annette Zilinskas joining in the summer of 1983. The group contributed to the compilation Hell Comes to Your House before releasing their self-titled debut album, Blood on the Saddle, in 1984. Following a rejected demo with MCA Records, the band released the album Poison Love in 1986. After the 1987 release of Fresh Blood, the original lineup broke up due to disappointing sales. Davis took a hiatus in 1989 and 1990 to perform with The Vandals and Candye Kane before resuming Blood on the Saddle with new musicians. Former bassist Chris Engel died in 1991. The band released More Blood in 1993, New Blood in 1995, and Flesh and Blood in 2001. The group later issued True Blood in 2019 and The Mud, the Blood and the Beer in 2020.
