Biography

Michael Amott switches from Carcass death metal to stoner with the formation of Spirituals Beggars in 1994. The band gradually moved towards a cross between Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy and Uli Jon Roth-era Scorpions. Spiritual Beggars debuted with an eponymous album in 1994, releasing records as Micahel Amott became available. Despite two changes of singer, Spiritual Beggars kept and amplified its inspiration with Ad Astra (2000), On Fire (2002), and Demons (2005). Return to Zero in 2010, Earth Blues in 2013 and Sunrise to Sundown in 2016 complete Spiritual Beggars' consecration as one of the stoner greats.
