Slo Burn was an American rock band formed in 1996 by John Garcia (vocals), Chris Hale (guitar), Damon Garrison (bass), and Brady Houghton (drums). The group released a demo in 1996 and their debut EP Amusing the Amazing in April 1997 under Malicious Vinyl. They participated in the Ozzfest tour that same year before disbanding in September. Despite their brief career, Slo Burn is recognized as a cult band within the stoner rock genre. Their sound drew comparisons to Kyuss but was noted for its more direct approach. In addition to the EP, Slo Burn recorded a fullâlength album in 1997 â often referred to unofficially as the Slo Burn or Red Ant Album â which was pressed as a limited run of numbered CDâRs (about 1,000 copies), containing the EP songs plus additional tracks from their demo sessions, but it never received an official wide release due to the bandâs split that same year. The band reformed in 2017, performing live at select festivals including Desertfest London and Psycho Las Vegas, revisiting material from Amusing the Amazing and their demo sessions, but they have not released new studio recordings since the reunion.
