Biography
Witchcraft, a Swedish occult rock band, was formed in 2000 by Magnus Pelander. The group gained attention with their single âNo Angel or Demonâ released in 2002, which led to a signing with Rise Above Records. Their debut album Witchcraft followed in 2004, recorded with vintage equipment for a distinct seventies sound. The band toured extensively, including European dates with Orange Goblin and Grand Magus. Their second album Firewood was released in 2005. In 2007, Witchcraft released The Alchemist; the album displayed strong influences from artists like Bobby Liebling from Pentagram but did not feature him as a direct collaborator. The band continued to evolve, releasing Legend in 2012 under Nuclear Blast Records and Nucleus in 2016. Their sixth album Black Metal was released in 2020, featuring acoustic music with a somber tone. Witchcraftâs seventh studio album Idag appeared on May 23, 2025, under Heavy Psych Sounds.
