Biography

Sonic Sum was an American hip hop group based in Bronx, New York. The group consisted of Rob Sonic, Fred Ones, Eric M.O., and Preservation. They released their first EP, Downtown Maze / Skypirate, in October 1998. In 1999, they released their debut studio album, The Sanity Annex, on Ozone Music, which received critical acclaim worldwide. The group's second studio album, Films, was initially released exclusively in Japan in 2002 and later in the US in 2004. It was re-released on Definitive Jux in 2008. Throughout their career, Sonic Sum released several notable singles including "Callarama Gala / Flatlands" (1999), "Himbro St. / It's An Ashtray" (2000), and "Rocket" / "Oscillator" (2001). The group disbanded in 2004, following the release of Films.
