Biography
Hilde Skaar, born August 8, 1998, is a Norwegian pop singer from Stord, Vestland, who uses the stage name SKAAR. She first appeared on the music scene as the featured vocalist on TRXD's "Wherever You Go" before making her solo debut with "Higher Ground" in 2018. Her debut album, The Other Side of Waiting (2020), earned Spellemannprisen nominations for Pop Album and Breakthrough of the Year. She followed with Waiting (2021) and Mad Woman (2023), the latter winning the 2023 Spellemannprisen for Songwriter of the Year and receiving a nomination for Release of the Year. SKAAR has also written and performed original music for the Norwegian series Home for Christmas and contributed songs to films including Battle and Askeladden â i Soria Moria slott. In 2025, she won the Musikkforleggerprisen for the song "Omen" from the film Nr. 24.
