Biography

Sandler & Young, an American musical duo composed of Belgian singer Tony Sandler and native New Yorker Ralph Young, emerged in the 1960s. Their breakthrough came with a successful performance at Polly Bergen's show at the Las Vegas Desert Inn Hotel and Casino, leading to engagements at the Coconut Grove nightclub in Hollywood. There they were discovered by Alan W. Livingston, then-president of Capitol Records. Sandler & Young released several albums for Capitol, including Side by Side and The Christmas World of Tony Sandler & Ralph Young. They performed extensively across the US and Canada, appearing on numerous TV shows. In 1969, they hosted Kraft Music Hall from London for NBC. The duo started their own label, RALTON Records, in the early 1970s. Their last appearance together was at the 2003 All Stars benefit show Let Freedom Ring. Ralph Young passed away on August 22, 2008.
