Sidney Maiden was an American country blues musician born in Evelyn, Louisiana, in April 1917. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by his harmonica accompaniment and his partnership with K. C. Douglas. Maiden relocated to California in the early 1940s and performed in West Coast nightclubs. His recording career began with the single "Mercury Boogie" (1948) as part of the K. C. Douglas Trio, where he played the harmonica. He performed the vocals for the song "Eclipse of the Sun" (1948), which was released on the label Down Town. Maiden achieved professional recognition for his only studio recording, Trouble an' Blues (1961), released on the label Prestige Bluesville. He achieved professional recognition for his collaboration with Mercy Dee Walton on the studio recording Mercy Dee (1961). Maiden performed occasionally in Fresno County during his later career. He died in Arizona approximately in 1987, though some reports suggest 1970.
