Biography

Christine Lakeland, born on July 11, 1954 in the United States of America, is a country blues singer and songwriter. She began her music career by playing on many albums of her then-husband, guitarist/songwriter J.J. Cale, including 5 (1979), Shades (1981), Grasshopper (1982), and #8 (1983). She released her debut solo album, Veranda, in 1984 on Comet Records. Her subsequent albums include Fireworks (1989) on Loft Records, Reckoning (1992), Turn To Me (1998), and the live album Live at Greenwood Ridge (2005), all released under LadyFingers Records. Christine Lakeland also contributed to various compilations such as More Disaster City Blues: A Collection of Contemporary Blues Songs from Los Angeles / California Vol. 2 (1996) and The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale (2014).
