Ondre Moore, known professionally as Swifty McVay, was born in Detroit, Michigan. He began his music career as a rapper and singer. In 1999, he joined the hip-hop group D12, initially formed by Proof. The group released their debut extended play, The Underground EP, in 1997. Swifty McVay's first appearance with D12 was on the album Devil's Night (2001), which debuted at number 1 on the U.S. charts and sold 4 million albums worldwide. The group achieved further success with D12 World (2004). Following the death of Proof in 2006 and Eminem's subsequent departure from active membership, D12 continued to release mixtapes and albums with a reduced lineup that included Swifty McVay. In 2023, he and Kuniva opened for several shows on Snoop Dogg's tour.
