Biography

Shaye was a Canadian pop group, consisting of singer-songwriters Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle, and Tara MacLean. The band is named after MacLean's sister who died in a car accident in 2002. Shaye released their debut album The Bridge in 2003 on EMI Canada, produced by Bill Bell and Jay Joyce. The lead single "Happy Baby" was nominated for Single of the Year at the 2004 Juno Awards and won Best New Group at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. Their follow-up album Lake Of Fire, released in 2007, featured songs by Van Morrison and Mike Scott of The Waterboys. In October that year, MacLean announced her departure from the group. Stockwood and Doyle continued as Shaye until 2009 when they disbanded.
