Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion were an American musical duo. Sarah Lee Guthrie, born February 16, 1979, is the daughter of folksinger Arlo Guthrie and granddaughter of Woody Guthrie. Johnny Irion, born John Phillip Irion on February 3, 1969, comes from a family of artists including author Thomas Steinbeck and classical violinist Rubilee Knight. The duo began performing together in late 2000 after meeting through mutual friend Chris Robinson. Their debut album Exploration was released in March 2005. In 2011, they signed with Ninth Street Opus and released Bright Examples. They performed at notable festivals including the Newport Folk Festival and contributed to projects such as New Multitudes, a tribute to Woody Guthrie's lyrics. Jeff Tweedy produced their album Wassaic Way, released in 2009. The duo amicably ended their partnership in 2014, with each pursuing solo projects thereafter.
