Biography
Rapper and house producer Sagat is best known for his 1994 hit "Funky Dat". Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on January 4, 1970, Faustin Maxim Moran Lenon made a name for himself as a producer under the pseudonym Chico Jump Slamm, before choosing the name Sagat. His first track , "Funky Dat", released in 1994, remains his crowning glory. A club hit, the track reached #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and #25 in the U.K., while its follow-up , "Luvstuff", peaked at #71. Between these two successes, Sagat produced his only album, My Poem Is... The World According to Sagat (1994), released on the New York label Maxi Records. It was later renamed Blaksam.
