S Club 8, originally known as S Club Juniors, was a British pop group formed in England in 2001. The group consisted of Jay Asforis, Connor Daley, Daisy Evans, Calvin Goldspink, Stacey McClean, Aaron Renfree, Hannah Richings, Francesca Sandford, and Rochelle Wiseman. They were discovered through the CBBC reality television show S Club Search and were initially intended to be a support act for S Club 7. Their debut single "One Step Closer" was released in April 2002 and reached Number 1 in the UK top 75, marking their breakthrough moment. The group signed with Polydor Records and released their debut album Together later that year, which peaked at number 5 on the UK charts. In 2003, S Club Juniors rebranded as S Club 8 and released their second album Sundown, which reached number 13 in the UK. Notable singles from this period include "Fool No More" and "Sundown", both of which charted at number 4. The group also ventured into acting with the TV show I Dream, which featured a soundtrack including the single "Dreaming". Despite their early success, S Club 8 disbanded in 2005 after almost four years together.
