Izhar Ashdot, born Izhar on November 23, 1958, in Israel, is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. He began playing the guitar at age 11 and founded his first group, The Red Dogs, two years later. During his mandatory military service in 1977, he worked as a music programming editor at Galei Tzahal, Israel Defense Forces Radio, where he met Yair Nitzani and Dani Bassan. Together with Yoshi Sade, Tzuf Philosof, and Sami Avzardel, they formed the rock band T-Slam. Ashdot was a founding member, lead guitarist, and singer-songwriter of T-Slam, contributing to their hit single "Radio Hazak" (Loud Radio) and the platinum-certified album Radio Hazak. After T-Slam disbanded in 1983, Ashdot produced music for various artists. His solo career began in 1992 with his self-titled debut album, which included hits like "Ish HaShokolad" ("Chocolate Man") and "HaLelilot Shelanu" ("Our Nights"). He received the Israeli Copyright Society Lifetime Achievement award.
