Aharona Rachel Kenan, known professionally as Rona Kenan, was born on July 26, 1979, in Jaffa, Israel. She is a singer-songwriter who began her musical journey at a young age, learning to play the guitar and citing influences such as The Beatles and Leah Goldberg. Kenan's breakthrough came when she participated in the song festival Next in 1997, where she performed songs by poet Yona Wallach. In 2001, she began touring solo. Her debut album, Breathing Down to Zero, was released in 2004 and included tracks like "Ahava Shkufa" ("Transparent Love") and "Mabul" ("Flood"). Kenan's second album, Einayim Zarot (Through Foreign Eyes), followed in 2007. She is openly gay and considered an icon in the gay and lesbian community in Israel.
