Biography

Russkiy Razmer are a Russian electronic dance band from Saint Petersburg that formed between 1991 and 1993. The ensemble was founded by Dmitry Kopotilov and Viktor Bondaryuk and are famous for their signature phrase “Davai-davai!” and for their influence on Russian club culture. They achieved early professional recognition performing in rave clubs and released their debut studio recording Yu-A-Yu in 1994, which featured the tracks “I'm Calling You Joy” and “Batman (Yu-A-Yu)”. Their discography includes the studio recordings Lya-Lya-Fa (1995), We Dance? (1998), and 650 (1999). The track “Angel of the Day” from the 1999 album reached Number 1 on the charts. Between 1997 and 2005, the group performed in the United States fifteen times. In 2005, Igor Lutsenko joined the ensemble as a replacement for Bondaryuk, and they subsequently released the studio recording !Listen (2010).
