Biography
Rumah Sakit was an instrumental rock band from San Francisco, California. The group was founded in late 1997 or early 1998 by Kenseth Thibideau and other members of the group Redlands. Their debut album, Rumah Sakit, was released in 2000 under Temporary Residence Limited. This self-titled album featured a complex mix of mathy time signatures and dense musical passages. In 2001, they contributed to Temporary Residence's Travels in Constants series before taking a brief hiatus. The band returned with the album Obscured by Clowns in 2002, which drew from both jazz-based post-rock and math-rock. A live performance recorded in December 2000 was also released that year. After another hiatus, Rumah Sakit regrouped for live shows in 2005.
