Wang Yuan (November 8, 2000), aka Roy Wang, is a Chinese singer-songwriter, TV personality, and philanthropist. Hailing from Chongqing, he made his debut as a member of the Chinese idol group TFBoys in 2013. Three years later, Roy Wang debuted as a solo artist with the 2016 single âCause of You,â which accumulated millions of plays on streaming platforms and earned him an award at the Fresh Asia Charts in the category of Top 10 Golden Songs. In October of that year, he dropped a second single titled âThe Best Time,â dedicated to his alma mater Chongqing Nankai Middle School. After releasing the singles âSeventeen,â âSleep,â and âPrideâ in 2017, Roy Wang issued his first digital album Song for You in 2018 and donated all the proceeds to the Yuan Foundation, his own charity organization. In 2019, he landed his first big acting role in the independent film So Long, My Son and released the EP Yuan. At the turn of the decade, Roy Wang returned with 2020âs âThe 400 Blowsâ and then unveiled the single âSister,â which broke into the Chinese Top 200 in 2021.
