Biography

Wang Junkai (known as Karry Wang) was born on September 21, 1999 in Chongqing, Sichuan province, China. In 2010, at the age of 11, he became a trainee at TF Entertainment, participating in the TF Family mini-album, titled I Don't Want to Change. Later, he gained attention through social media, frequently posting content including popular song covers. His official debut came in 2013 when he joined the boy band TFBOYS, alongside Roy Wang and Jackson Yee, at the age of 13. Three years later, his first solo single "Ode to a Tree" was released, followed by "Memory in Ferris Wheel" which formed part of the soundtrack of the series Finding Soul, topping the charts for three consecutive weeks and earning him unexpected media exposure. Capitalizing on his sudden fame, Wang launched a parallel acting career, continuing to release three consecutive singles that ranked in the Chinese charts; "You're Mine" (2018), "Awake" (2018) and "Growing" (2019). Continuing to pursue a career as both a singer and an actor, Wang appeared on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 List twice in 2020 and 2021 in 10th and 9th place respectively, releasing hit single "Faith (ä¿¡ä»°)" in 2022, charting at number 3.
