Biography

Robyn Loau, born Robyn on October 20, 1972, in Australia, is a singer-songwriter. She began her career as the lead singer of the Australian pop group Girlfriend from 1991 to 1994. The band's debut single "Take It from Me" peaked at Number 1 on the Australian ARIA singles chart in April 1992, followed by two more top 20 singles and a platinum-certified debut album Make It Come True. Loau left Girlfriend in mid-1994 to pursue a solo career. In 1996, she made her film debut in the movie Idiot Box and became the face and voice of the world music project Siva Pacifica. Her solo career launched with the single "Sick With Love" in September 1997, which peaked at Number 21 on the Australian ARIA singles chart. Loau's debut album Malaria, recorded during her work on Siva Pacifica, was shelved due to a label merger but later released as Malaria: The Lost Album in July 2008. Notable collaborations include "Hard" with Josh Abrahams and the album Only Human, released in November 2010. Loau's cover of "Wuthering Heights" was released in March 2012.
