Biography

Young Divas is an Australian pop girl group formed in 2006 by Sony BMG Australia, initially for a one-off single and national tour to promote all members as solo artists. The original lineup consisted of former Australian Idol contestants Paulini, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Kate DeAraugo, and Emily Williams. Their debut single was a cover version of Donna Summer's "This Time I Know It's for Real", released in May 2006, which peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified platinum. Following this success, they embarked on the Young Divas Live! Tour across Australia. In November 2006, their second single, a cover of Lonnie Gordon's "Happenin' All Over Again", reached number 9 and was certified gold. Their self-titled debut album, Young Divas, released in November 2006, debuted at number 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified double platinum. In June 2007, Ricki-Lee Coulter left the group to resume her solo career and was replaced by Jessica Mauboy. The group's second and final album, New Attitude, was released in November 2007 and debuted at number 10 on the ARIA Albums Chart, certified gold. Their final single, a cover of Loverboy's "Turn Me Loose", featuring New Zealand rapper Savage, peaked at number 15. Young Divas officially disbanded in 2008 with all members resuming their solo careers.
