Biography

Rory Allen Philip Ferreira, known professionally as R.A.P. Ferreira, was born on February 3, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois. He began his music career as part of the hip-hop trio Nom de Rap and released his first solo mixtape, I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here, under the name Milo in 2011. His second project, Milo Takes Baths (2012), gained attention from Forbes and led to collaborations with rappers Busdriver and Open Mike Eagle. Ferreira signed to Hellfyre Club and released his debut studio album, A Toothpaste Suburb, in September 2014. Following disagreements over the album's rollout, he founded Ruby Yacht Records and continued to release music, including So the Flies Don't Come (2015), which was featured on year-end lists by Rolling Stone and Spin. Four albums followed, Purple Moonlight Pages (2020), Bob's Son (2021), The Light Emitting Diamond Cutter Scriptures (2021) and 5 to the Eye with Stars (2022), before collaborations with Scallops Hotel for Lilac Diesel (2023) and KEF 33 (2023). Following Asiatique Black Wizard Lily Funk in 2023, R.A.P. Ferreira collaborated with Fumitake Tamura for The First to Make Contact When We Dap (2024). The same year was released Outstanding Understanding, followed in October 2025 by The Night Green Side of It with Kenny Segal.
