clipping. are an experimental hip-hop trio known for their unique blend of abstract soundscapes, intricate lyricism, and boundary-pushing production. Formed in Los Angeles in 2009, the group consists of rapper Daveed Diggs, a multifaceted performer who gained mainstream fame through his role in the Broadway hit Hamilton, alongside producers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes. The trio's sound is characterized by dark, industrial beats, complex rhythms, and a confrontational approach to both production and lyrical themes. clipping.'s music often explores themes of violence, paranoia, and dystopia, while their unconventional sound combines elements of noise, industrial, and experimental electronic music with the raw energy of hip-hop. Their debut album, CLPPNG (2014), set the tone for their unique style, while subsequent releases There Existed an Addiction to Blood (2019) and Visions of Bodies Being Burned (2020) expanded their reputation as avant-garde innovators within the genre.
