Biography
Rafiq Bhatia, born on August 21, 1987, in Hickory, North Carolina, is an American composer, guitarist, and producer. He began playing guitar in high school and graduated from Oberlin College with degrees in neuroscience and economics. Bhatia moved to Brooklyn in 2010 and released his first two solo albums, Strata (2011) and Yes It Will (2014). In 2014, he joined Son Lux as a guitarist and producer, contributing to the band's expansion from a solo project into a trio. With Son Lux, Bhatia released several albums including Lanterns (2013) and Bones (2015). He also composed the original score for the film Everything Everywhere All at Once, which was nominated for Best Original Score at both the Academy Awards and the BAFTA Awards in 2023.
