Biography

Cyrille Aimée is a French jazz singer who has garnered international attention for her frothy but persuasive style that critics say has echoes of both Sarah Vaughan and Edith Piaf. Born just outside Paris, she won the Montreux Jazz Festival Competition at the age of 23, was shortlisted in the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and placed first in the 2012 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Festival in New Jersey, USA. Her albums include 'Cyrille Aimée and the Surreal Band' (2009), 'Smile' (2009) and 'Just the Two of Us' (2010) with Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo, 'Live at Small's' (2010), 'Live at Birdland' (2013) and 'Burstin' Out' with Chicago Jazz Orchestra (2013). Her 2014 release 'It's a Good Day' went to number 14 on Billboard's Jazz Albums Chart and 'Let's Get Lost' (2016) peaked at number eleven. Her 2018 schedule included a concert with Jazz at Lincoln Center in Shangai, China.
