Biography

Tyreek McDole is an Haitian-American vocalist from Florida who debuted at the 2018 Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington National Competition, winning the Outstanding Vocalist Award from Wynton Marsalis. A graduate of The Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Jazz Performance, he studied under LaTanya Hall, Gary Bartz, and others. McDole has performed at iconic New York City's venues like The Blue Note and Birdland Theatre alongside artists like Theo Croker and Gary Bartz. In 2023, he won the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, becoming the second male winner in its history. After the release of his single debut « Every Day I Have the Blues » followed « The Sun Song (Precious Energy) » and the EP The Creator Has a Master Plan (2025), including his version of the Pharoah Sanders classic with the latter son Tomoki Sanders, double bassist Rodney Whitaker and pianist Caelan Cardello. In June 2025 was released the debut album Open Up Your Senses, with contributions from Sullivan Fortner, Kenny Barron, Dylan Band, and Justin Faulkner.
