Biography

Pollyn is an American electronic music group formed in 1998 in Los Angeles, California. The group consists of Adam Weissman on production, samples, percussion, and synth, Genevieve Artadi on lead vocals, bass, and keyboard, and Anthony Cava on guitar. Pollyn released its debut EP, Songs for Sale, in 2003. The band self-released its first full-length album, This Little Night, in 2009. This record led to subsequent remix projects featuring producers such as Débruit, Nosaj Thing, Sid Roams, and James Pants. The group’s sophomore album, Living in Patterns, followed in 2011, earning comparisons to acts like Portishead, Blonde Redhead, and Gorillaz while highlighting strong afro-beat influences. Pollyn, which cites Talking Heads as a major influence, has collaborated with artists including Roc Marciano and Freddie Gibbs. The band’s discography also includes the 2016 release Distress Signals.
