Biography

Phantomsmasher, a United States-based musical group, was formed in 2000. The band was led by musician James Plotkin, who had previously been known as Atomsmasher. Phantomsmasher's initial breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled album Phantomsmasher on August 19, 2002, under Ipecac Recordings. Prior to this, Plotkin released an album titled Atomsmasher in 2000 under Hydra Head Records. The band's lineup included James Plotkin on guitar, bass guitar, and electronics, DJ Speedranch on vocals, and Dave Witte on drums. Phantomsmasher also collaborated with Venetian Snares on the split release "Podsjfkj Pojid Poa / Oisdjoks" in 2003.
