Biography

Peter Bruntnell is a British singer-songwriter born in Wellington, New Zealand. His family is originally from Wales and moved to New Zealand when his father worked at the British High Commission in Wellington, before returning to the UK when Bruntnell was one year old and settling in Kingston upon Thames. In the early 1990s, he formed the band Milkwood before returning to solo work and recordings as the Peter Bruntnell Combination. He signed with Almo Sounds and released his debut album Cannibal (1995), followed by Camelot In Smithereens (1997). In 1999, he moved to Slow River Records/Rykodisc for Normal for Bridgwater (1999), which received notable recommendations from VH1’s Bill Flanagan and Rolling Stone’s John Luerssen. He later recorded several albums with Loose Records, including Ends Of The Earth (2002), Played Out (2004), Ghost in a Spitfire (2005), and Peter And The Murder Of Crows (2008).
