Christopher James Pickering, born in Warwick, Australia, is an alternative country singer-songwriter and guitarist. He started his music career with The Boat People as a drummer and singer until June 2004. His debut solo EP, Hard to Find, was released in 2004, followed by his first album, A Safer Place, in 2005. In 2006, Pickering's EP Ghost City was released, produced by ARIA Award-winning producer Magoo. His song "Edge of the Earth" was nominated for Alternative Country Song of the Year at the 7th Annual Independent Music Awards. He showcased his work at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, in 2008 and represented Queensland at the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance festival in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2009. In 2014, he moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he is also Head of Music at JMC Academy's Melbourne Campus.
