Rumbleseat was an American acoustic folk trio formed in 1998, consisting of Hot Water Music frontmen Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard, along with Samantha Jones. They released four singles, "California Burritos", "Picker", "Saturn In Crosshairs", and "Trestles". These releases were compiled into their only full-length album, Rumbleseat Is Dead (2005). The album featured covers of classic songs such as Johnny Cash and June Carter's "Jackson", Don Gibson's "Sea of Heartbreak", and Tex Ritter's "Rye Whiskey". Despite delays caused by the Hurricane Gaston flood in Richmond, Virginia, which damaged recordings, Rumbleseat Is Dead was met with mixed reactions from fans due to the omission of popular tracks like "Walk Through the Darkness".
