Biography

Christy McWilson, born Christy Wilson in Northern California, is an American singer-songwriter. She began her career in the 1980s as a singer with the Dynette Set, releasing several singles, including "Seed of Love" on the compilation The Girls Can't Help It. In 1990, McWilson formed the Picketts, who released three albums through PopLlama and Rounder Records before disbanding in the late 1990s. Her solo career started with The Lucky One (2000), produced by Dave Alvin. Subsequent albums include Bed of Roses (2002) and Desperate Girl (2015). McWilson has also participated in the Roots on the Rails tour with Dave Alvin and Cindy Cashdollar, and a collaboration with the West Seattle 2 for Six by Three.
