Slobberbone, an American alt-country band from Denton, Texas, was formed in early 1992. The group initially consisted of Brent Best on guitar and lead vocals, Cody Garcia, Tony Harper, and Brian Lane. They played their first gig at the Park 'n' Go, a local beer store. After meeting while attending the University of North Texas, the band began playing local shows in Denton. Bassist Brian Lane joined in 1996, followed by guitarist Jess Barr in 1997. Slobberbone signed with Austin-based record label Doolittle Records and released their debut album Crow Pot Pie in 1996. Notable albums include Barrel Chested (August 1997), Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today (2000), and Slippage (2002). The band disbanded in early 2005 but reunited for shows in 2009.
