Tirren Staaf, known professionally as Pegz, is an Australian hip hop artist and producer from Melbourne. He began his career as a graffiti artist before transitioning to rap music. In 2000, he secured a job at Obese Records, marking the start of his professional music journey. He released his debut studio album Capricorn Cat in 2003 and Axis in 2005. Pegz toured nationally with Australian Hip Hop Milk Bar Stars in 2005. In 2007, he released Burn City, announcing a hiatus from solo work to focus on managing Obese Records. He returned with the album Drama in April 2011. As part of Gully Platoon, Pegz achieved chart success with the album The Great Divide, which reached number 5 on the AIR Top 20 Album charts and number 18 on the ARIA Top 40 Urban Album charts in 2009.
