Paktofonika, a Polish hip hop band, was formed in 1998 in Katowice by Piotr "Magik" Åuszcz, Wojciech "Fokus" Alszer, and Sebastian "Rahim" Salbert. In 2000, Paktofonika signed with Gigant Records and released their debut album Kinematografia. Tragically, Magik committed suicide eight days after the album's release. The group continued performing using previously recorded material of Magik's vocals. In September 2002, they released their farewell album Archiwum Kinematografii, which included studio outtakes from Kinematografia and two new songs without Magik. Paktofonika gave its last performance on March 21, 2003, at the Spodek Arena in Katowice. In 2022, Fokus and Rahim announced their return to performing as Paktofonika.
