Biography

Orange Sector, formed in 1992 by Martin Bodewell and Lars Felker in Hannover, Germany, emerged from the underground club scene as a duo that blended EBM with industrial influences. Their breakthrough came with the demo The War Comes Home, which attracted Zoth Ommog Records and led to the releases of Faith (1993) and Flashback (1994), both produced by André Schmechta. The EP Kids in America (1994) showcased cover tracks that broadened their audience. After Felker’s departure in 1997, Bodewell continued solo, issuing Love It! (1997) and the albums Scars of Love and Masquerade (1998), which shifted toward a more melodic sound. The group entered a hiatus in 1998 before reforming in 2004 under Infacted Recordings, releasing Here We Are [Back Again] (2005), which peaked at Number 10 on the German Alternative Charts. Subsequent albums-Bassprodukt (2006), Profound (2007), Mindfuck (2009), and Krieg & Frieden (2010)-solidified their presence in the electronic scene. A trio formation with René Nowotny followed, producing Alarm (2019), noted for its political themes, and Alles Wird Geld (2021), which saw the single "The Work Is Done" reach Number 2 on the DAC. EPs Tanzfabrik, Wo Bist Du, and Schmerz (2024–2025) continued the band’s output, maintaining their relevance in contemporary electronic music.
